Payments
Water bills, or combined bills for water and other services, can
be paid either by stopping by the William J Lewis Utility Maintenance
Building located at 671 South State Highway 7 or by mailing to
the address listed on the Billing page.
Deposit
The utility account requires a deposit by City Ordinance Number
12-2003. This deposit has to be paid in advance and cannot be
billed on the account. The deposit is also applied to the
account upon your final bill on that account. Regardless of whether
you have an existing account, the Commission requires a separate
deposit on each account.
Deposit Refund Deposits will be refunded to any person or entity having
paid a deposit on or after July 22, 2003—the adoption date of Ordinance
12-2003—who is good standing with the Utility Commission on
all monthly bills. To be in good standing the account holder must
have had no late payments for twenty-four consecutive months. The
refund will be done without accumulated interest.
Bill Comparison
Utility bills vary from house to house. Comparisons cannot necessarily
be mad unless you take several factors into consideration.
If you feel that there may be a potential problem with your
billing for a particular month, please feel free to contact
the billing department. The utility billing employees are your
best comparison tool because they have experience in determining
factors that may be involved with your concerns.
High Water Bill
Often times when customers see their water bills progressively
get higher they often blame other possibilities and the bill continues
to get higher. Customers with high bills are encouraged to locate
and correct leaks promptly.
Bill Adjustments
It is the policy of the Grayson Utility Commission to grant a
sewer adjustment, one time per calendar year, for filling a
swimming pool. The adjustment will be based on the gallons
of water required to fill the customers swimming pool. To
request an adjustment, print the Swimming
Pool Adjustment Form 2005-D, fill it out and briing to
the office. For a more detailed description of our adjustment
policies, visit the Water & Sewer
Adjustments page.
Trash Collection
The Utilities Commission does not collect solid waste. The Commission
only takes care of billing for this service. For all questions
concerning Garbage/Solid Waste, please contact Grayson Sanitation
at (606)474-5850.
